We’ll give you a clue, “we’re lean, we’re green, and we’re mean”! We are unbelievably excited to share with you our collaboration with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Superheroes and cartoons go hand in hand, like pizza and pepperoni. That’s what makes the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the most magnificent of them all, as they have the full package, including the pepperoni pizza. They fight dangerous criminals, wicked overlords, mutant monsters, and extraterrestrial invaders from their home under the sewers of New York City while striving to stay undetected from civilization. The crime-fighting quartet is also possibly the only superheroes trained in the ancient art of ninjitsu, which makes them such a force to reckon with.
Did you know that there was originally only one issue of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book when it was initially released in 1984? Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the show’s creators, had to borrow money from Eastman’s uncle to put the show together. Imagine a world without the TMNT? We don’t even want to think of that kind of a world. They better have thanked Eastman’s uncle big time for his generous donation to humanity!
Being lovers of art history, the show’s creators decided to name the Ninja Turtles after four Italian legends of the Renaissance; Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo. But the brothers are more commonly known as Leo, Raph, Don, and Mike. Leonardo wears a blue mask and carries two swords. He is an intelligent, calm, fearless leader and loyal disciple of his sensei. Raphael, the group’s anti-hero, wears a red mask and carries a pair of sai. Donatello sports a purple mask and holds a bo staff. His inventions and knowledge of science make him the wise genius of the team. Last but by no means least, Michelangelo, the team’s upbeat adolescent, is a free-spirited, laid-back, silly, mischievous jokester renowned for his love of pizza and good attitude. Michelangelo carries a pair of nunchakus and wears an orange mask.
The collection doesn’t just feature the teen turtles; a well-known enemy of the ninjas, Rocksteady, also makes an appearance. Once a human, now a mutated evil rhinoceros, Rocksteady cares about nothing except getting what he wants and isn’t afraid to use his aggression to do so.
We’re big fans of being festive at CRAZYBOXER. We’ll take any excuse to decorate the office and brighten up our day! For that reason, we make sure every collection is festive, too. Living deep in the sewers of New York City allows the Turtles to pop up to the street and find the best slice of pizza on every corner in the city. This inspired us to create a pizza slice box packaging for our pizza-themed TMNT trunks. The briefs come packaged in a New York-style pizza slice box that looks just like the real deal. We’ve neatly folded the pair of boxer briefs and placed them into the triangle takeout box. The pizza slice box is decorated with an authentic-looking red and white checkered pattern on the sides. The Ninja Turtles appear on the top of the box, along with a preview of the briefs contained inside.
Our boxers are made from the softest microfiber material, which has moisture-wicking properties. This means it will draw off sweat from your skin, keeping you feeling as fresh and as dry as possible throughout your day. The front pouch is lined with an extra layer of fabric which adds extra support and protection where you need it most. The elasticated waistband hugs your hips and keeps the boxers from sliding down. We’ve also added a printed tag on the inside of the briefs for a comfortable finish. There is also a woven tag on the back of the waistband, which displays the TMNT logo.
