Star Wars is popular because of the build-up. For many people, the thrill of viewing a debut trailer outweighs the pleasure of seeing the complete film that precedes it. And you're no longer a kid, but an adult who realizes Chewie is a guy in a suit and that you've spent your opportunity to develop up to be an interplanetary bounty hunter, no Star Wars film can expect to replicate the emotion of seeing the original trilogy.

But it's all promise in the build-up, both for The Phantom Menace and The Force Awakens. Anything you desire is attainable. You get brief reunions with favorite characters, glimpses of fresh stuff to come, and the enthusiasm is the same as it was all those years ago.

Then it doesn't matter what happens next; the anticipation of something spectacular is among the most enjoyable aspects of becoming a movie fan. And no series does it better than Star Wars.

The movies will always be regarded as cultural landmarks. But Star Wars meant more to me than who fired the first shot or imitated Chewie. It's the universe in which A New Hope takes place. It's also being a kid with my buddies, with our imaginations sparked by a galaxy distant, far away.

It's a set of five boxers, one of which is basic blue with a red waistband. And another in a simple gray tone for those days when you prefer to stick to the basics. The other three boxers have Star Wars characters engraved on them.
